Your questions we discussed:
- What benefits have you gotten out of your Improv classes and have they helped you professionally?
Personally – it is a blast, it opens me up (to let go of vanity, pride or ego) and allow myself to be silly.
Professionally – it stretches my creativity for writing or innovating new ideas. I can also think faster on my feet.
Stand Up Comedy, Painting, Dancing…….
2. What is the difference between diversity and inclusion?
Simply – diversity is all about gender, race, religion, sexual orientation, etc.. ensuring you are learning from and collaborating with different views, beliefs, experience, and more
Inclusion means you are including them in the discovery, creating, managing, etc… so the various voices, opinions, beliefs are considered.
Many managers will have diversity at the table YET not include them in the conversation, decision making, creating, etc…
3. How is it people using social media don’t realize who is watching – when and where? Is all of it considered by employers and others? Is there ever a place where it is safe from folks not using it (for or against you)?
Think – finding a job
Establishing your expertise or influence
Seeking out new clients
Being a mentor or role model
Personal Branding –
Your personal brand is how you promote yourself. It is the unique combination of skills, experience, and personality that you want the world to see you. It is the telling of your story, and how it reflects your conduct, behavior, spoken and unspoken words, and attitudes.
You use your personal branding to differentiate yourself from other people. Done well, you can tie your personal branding in with your business in ways no corporate branding can possibly succeed.
Professionally, your personal brand is the image that people see of you. It can be a combination of how they look at you in real life, how the media portrays you, and the impression that people gain from the information about you available online.
4. I’ve considered doing freelance work on the side of my full time job. I want to save for a new house. What do I need to know about it?
